One of the most important factors that determines how effective counselling will be is quality of the fit between you and your therapist.  Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you is the first step towards improving your sense of well-being.  Below is a description of how I typically work and I invite you to contact me to discuss my practice further.  I look forward to speaking with you.

My approach is deeply collaborative.  In a confidential and supportive space, I work with you to identify patterns of feelings and/or behavior that have developed as adaptations to past experiences.  Together, we work to understand how these patterns developed and how they impact your life and relationships.  Once we have a good understanding of how these patterns are working in your life, we can decide which areas you would like to enhance or shift to support freer and more authentic functioning.

I am an integrative psychotherapist and in order to achieve these enhancements and shifts, I draw from a variety of psychological theories/therapies including attachment theory, psychodynamic therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, emotionally-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy, in order to inform our work together.  It is my intent to develop a plan that is customized to your needs and that will help you to improve your sense of wellbeing.
